    Default Active shooter in NJ

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/04/us/new...ing/index.html

(CNN) -- Police are responding to reports of a shooter at Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, New Jersey, an officer who answered the phone at the Paramus Police Department said late Monday.
Eddie Kahmann, who works inside the mall, told CNN he heard 6-7 gunshots around 9:20 p.m. ET.
"There was just people running like crazy so I quickly just closed my doors, ran to the back, turned off all the lights, music and everything, just to stay hidden," he said.
Kahmann spoke from inside the mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the New York City area.
Ally Kozic, another mall employee, said she saw "someone dressed in all black, carrying a large gun walk past our store."

But I distinctly remember a sign that said no firearms allowed in the mall the last time I was there.

    Agreed.

Need headline of, man enters mall with gun intending to kill and is cut down by several citizens before he can cause harm

Always in places with heavy gun control.

Still I am nervous when my daughter goes to work at my local mall.

Let me run a hypothetical past you folks.

Say this was happening here in PA. The mall clearly has a No Firearms sign. You happen to be in the mall with your concealed sidearm. An active shooter situation arises. You use your sidearm and neutralize the shooter.

What are the legal ramifications? You haven't broken any laws (as far as I know) you've only broken a "rule" of the property owner.

I'd take a trespassing charge with a smile in that case!
