9mm suggestions?
Im looking for a 9mm and looking for suggestions. I have small hands but im not really looking for a compact. Long triggers are very awkward for me so im not a fan. So far I LOVE the taurus 9mm 1st gen and really didnt like the ruger sr 9c. Suggestions anyone?

Re: 9mm suggestions?
I love the SR9, but also love the M&P 9. It's worth checking out.

Re: 9mm suggestions?
If you don't like the SR9, IMO odds are good you will like the feel of the M&P9 . . . I did.
Found out later that I shoot better with the CZ9 (and the Beretta). So I bought a CZ75B 9mm and its a constant range companion. The M&P9 is loaded and ready at home, seeing the range maybe once a quarter.
So my advice is not just to molest samples at your local LGS, but rent a couple of prospects at the range too if you can.Last edited by Twoboxer; November 5th, 2013 at 01:31 AM.

I really like my Beretta 92FS.
They are pretty readily available, both new and used.

Re: 9mm suggestions?
Walther PPQ has a nice trigger and it's not too big and not too small. Just about right.

I definitely plan to rent and try out before purchase. Theres nothing worst then being stuck with something you hate. Thats why im asking for suggestions so i can try em out next time i go to the range.

Re: 9mm suggestions?
There are literally one million options. What are your needs / intended usage and do you have a total budget ?

Re: 9mm suggestions?
^^^ This is an excellent question....once you have an answer to this question, it's easier to figure out where to go.
I strongly recommend checking out corneredcat.com -- great resource for beginners.
In general, Glock 19 (Gen 4), one of the Kahr 9mm pistols, or a single stack striker-fired pistol like the Walther PPS might be worth checking out in addition to the suggestions above.
A 9mm 1911 like the Kimber Aegis might fit well, too...but it's pricey, and I don't know if the 1911 is a good platform for a beginner given that it's more high-maintenance than the others.

Browning Hi Power or clone. Plentiful, pretty cheap used, shoots anything, shoots where you point it, and doesn't take a rocket scientist is strip and clean.
