A hand-made concealed carry holster for my new 24/7 Compact
Hello everyone.
Ive been reading on these forums for quite a while but just joined recently.
I am not new to Firearms, or handguns. My entire Family hunts, and both my parents carry regularly. I however, just recently purchased my first Handgun, and also applied and received my LTC (although I'm not carrying until i get comfortable shooting my firearm)
Now for what my post is about...
I've been working with leather for about 8 years now. I make leather and steel armor for medieval re-enacting clubs. So i decided to craft my own sob leather holster. It is no-where near finished but i thought id post some pictures up for what Ive done so far. The pictures shown are about a 1/2 hour of work. It's three pieces of cow hide, wet formed to my firearm. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, feel free to post em up =)

Looks good. I think you might want to cut away a little from the grip by the trigger, So you see the entire grip but you would need to determine if I am seeing that right. From the Pic it looks like some leather might get in the way of the draw.

Maybe remove the Red line or Blue or combination. But that is just my distant view please do not do it because I suggest it I am just making an observation. It might end up looking like a crossbreed super tuck.

Thanks for the replies!
And yes, after the leather dried last night i was able to test the draw with it, and i need to trim it down some.
I plan on working on it again tonight after i get off work. If i make any decent progress on it i'll post another pic up.
Have a great day!

I have a 24/7 PRO myself. Any luck on you making a holster to fit a duty belt?

Do you have a special Machine for the stiching or is that done by hand?

Re: A hand-made concealed carry holster for my new 24/7 Compact
OK, an update on my holster. Spent another hour on it tonight while watching some TV. Only have to finish the second loop and treat it.
And i have a machine that will sew thinner leather, but I'm using 8-10oz leather for this, so it's all hand stitched =) There is actually a pretty funny (and totally off topic reason) that i have a leather stitching machine. A few years ago i had a friend hire me to design and craft a Beer-doleer (a bandoleer, but it holds... beer) that he can wear during his medieval camping trips. Well, as it turned out it was a big hit and I have ended up making and selling a dozen or so each year since then. =P
But anyhow, back the topic...
Here is my current pic.
And to everyone asking if i can craft something for them, i would love to craft custom orders, but as i am new to holsters id like to make a few and have them tested before i start making them for others. My father and sister have both asked me to craft holsters for them (i will be working on them next) that way they can test my design for me and make sure i don't have any major flaws in them. Thank you for interest thou, just give me a few weeks and id be happy to craft anything for anyone =)
