Re: Need some help... Military Group Looking for Day Use of Range
Thank you to all who replied both here and via PMs. When I posted the original question I never imagined something so simple would be so controversial. As one responder put it, this is just a few guys looking for a way to spend the day on the range together. While we are all military personnel, some are not the firearms enthusiasts the rest of us are. When my boss recommended this as a day out of the office, I volunteered to put it together thinking it would be a good way to others interested in something new, educate my non shooting coworkers, and perhaps even help a local club recruit a few new members.
I have found a local club that is willing to host our event. At this point I am trying to set a date with them for the spring. Once everything comes together (probably a few months from now) I will post the date and location. For those that may be members of the club I'd like to invite each of you to come join us so we can secretly collect your fingerprints, photograph your firearms, and identify your vehicles for future satellite tracking. Ok... all kidding aside. There is already healthy dose of paranoia here so I won't fan the flames.
I believe in my 2A rights just as much as the next guy. I'm just looking at a possible means of getting my coworkers out for a little safe fun.
Grey Bearded One - The first invitation to join us will be for you. Happy Veteran's Day... compliments of your military.Last edited by MT1; November 11th, 2013 at 11:51 PM.

MT
On this great day that we in uniform, past and present, hold sacred, thank you for your service.
I compliment you highly for not allowing yourself to become sucked into the mindless mush that some of our so called fellow sportsmen bring to this meeting place, be it tongue in cheek or not.
An excellent example of military bearing. I salute you.

Hey Fritz. It's good to hear from you. I haven't seen you around lately. I got out to the club on Friday. It was a last minute idea and I thought for sure it would be crowded with rifle season coming up. I was pleasantly surprised to have the 100 yard range to myself for about an hour.
Happy Veteran's Day.
