PUBLIC service announcement about NFA Transfers
It has been confirmed, that the ATF is now looking at 12-14 MONTH approval Times for FORM 4's and Dealer to Dealer transfers are at 3-4 months. If your NFA Shop says anything different it's incorrect. I have had a few people in my shop asking this question, and I wanted to get correct info for them. No Need to BITCH about the ATF, GOV, Ect. We all know they suck, and with Mini Hitler in the WH nothing will improve.

Re: PUBLIC service announcement about NFA Transfers
That is ridiculous. Is this just a way to discourage people from not getting NFA items? Should we be worried about the future of NFA?
What does it take to remove sbr's/sbs and suppressors from the control of the ATF and treat them as normal weapons and accessories?

Re: PUBLIC service announcement about NFA Transfers
Apparently you must be new to NFA ownership.
When the idiot was first elected, tens of thousands of transfer forms were dumped onto the ATF and transfer times doubled.
Then, before the ATF caught up with that mess the second rush of transfer forms came in when he was re-elected.
Now with the ATFs new proposal to increase the requirements for Trust and LLC/Corp entities to include pictures, fingerprints, and CLEO sign offs for ALL PERSONS listed in the entity, there has been another huge rush to get Forms in before a decision is made. Consider that many formed a Trust or LLC/Corp because of not being able to get a sign off.
Finally, the government shutdown for like three weeks and that included the ATF.
Hopefully now you understand the twelve to fifteen month transfer times being quoted by the ATF.
Do you really think that Congress will even consider removing SBR/SBS or suppressors from NFA control? What do you think that the majority of the population would say if they heard of a proposal like that, especially when most people think that they are illegal to begin with?
That will not happen, so don't worry about that issue.

Re: PUBLIC service announcement about NFA Transfers
Nope, not new to NFA. The few NFA items I own were purchased before all this crap happened and wait times were 3 months.
Suppressors are popular for a reason, they are better for everyone either shooting or in surrounding neighborhood's. I know there is a lobby group who are trying to get them unregulated and we all know this wont happen until the fool in the WH is removed. That doesn't mean we should give up and not worry about it, get all the bills written and get the cosponsors so when the time is right they can be introduced.
Education of NFA would sway a lot of the public. If the general public knew suppressors were not whisper quiet like in the movies but they did quiet down the report of guns then I think they would be ok with them coming out of NFA control.
SBR's would be more difficult to explain but show a pistol AR and a 16" AR rifle and explain how they are perfectly legal but the show a combination of the two as an SBR and they may realize how stupid the law to regulate them is.
Anti's will always be anti and will never agree to any pro gun laws but we should not just give up because of the huge obstacle in front of us.

Strange how the gov't is quick to collect any other tax, but makes you wait to pay this one....

They always cash my checks as soon as they get them. Then the wait...
