Man Accidentally Shoots Himself At Tennessee Walmart

    CATHERINE THOMPSON –

Police Said a man accidentally shot himself in the leg Wednesday inside a Walmart in Antioch, Tenn., The Tennessean reported.

The man, 21, was a handgun carry permit holder and had an unholstered .40-caliber pistol in his waistband, police said. When he reached for the gun to prevent it from slipping as he approached the Walmart checkout line, the firearm discharged a single round into his leg.

The man suffered a minor leg injury and no charges are expected to be filed, according to the newspaper.

Clearly the problem was the chambered round.

lol! Another in the waistband, no holster negligent discharge. As the title says, "Holsters Good". Maybe the NRA needs to do even more on carrying a pistol safely with proper, trigger covering holsters (especially for Glocks) as number one.

Good thing it was just a .40, if it were a .45 he'd be dead.

Good thing it was only a .45, if it had been a desert eagle chambered in 50 cal Armageddon would have occurred.

Well, at least no innocent bystanders were hurt as a result, and I am pretty sure he is glad only his leg was shot.

    Morals of the story:
    1) Don't carry a loaded gun around without a holster.

    2) If your gun starts to fall, let it. It probably won't go off from hitting the floor, but it might go off if you grab it wrong.
