Cool AR15 lower receiver roll pin

I am assembling an AR15 and am to the point of giving up on the roll pin that went flying across the living room and hid itself in the deep shag carpet. It's the roll pin for the bolt release lever. Anybody know where I can source one tomorrow? Is it a common size available from Lowes? Or, is there a gun store around Bucks/Montgomery that might have one in stock? Thanks, Bob

Donley's in Quakertown definitely have it but they are hunting I believe you should call the shop before you drive over I'm unsure when their coming back and I can't call their cell phones because they have no service at the hunting camp.

3/32" diameter x 1/2" long roll pin. Any ACE hardware should have them. Lowes or Home Depot might also.

If you assemble lowers every now and then you want to buy the punch made for installing that particular roll pin.

Put a piece of duct tape on the receiver around where you'll be tapping. It's real easy to miss and scratch the receiver, a piece of tape costs almost nothing and will save you grief.

Oh, and use a slave pin to hold the release in from the other side.

Drive the roll pin into the shoulder without the bolt catch being in place, until it is flush on the inside of the shoulder. Then you can place the bolt catch and hold it with a slave pin.

    This.

I use a press to drive mine in. Works like a charm every time.

...but only some of my lowers use roll pins, the rest use hex head pins with threads on them. Yeah, it's super sweet.

I shot the same roll pin across my basement twice, and almost didn't find it the second time before I wised up and just borrowed a roll pin starter punch. Problem solved.

Ugh, I was doing this till I partially deformed one of the front pivot pin bosses on the lower. I saved the lower but that little crunch was heart breaking. Be careful what you're pressing on.
