Gun Free Zones
I did a search and haven't found anything relating to listing Gun Free Zones such as retailers and businesses. It could help in law abiding gun owners choose in were they choose to spend their money. I currently know of 2 sporadicly posted retailers .......
Circuit City
Jared's Jewelers
Michigan has a database
Also, does anyone know if the PAFOA has anything like this card that could be issued to such businesses?Last edited by Big Dog; May 11th, 2008 at 09:17 PM.

Re: Gun Free Zones
I have never seen a database like Ohio's for PA but it is a great idea. It would not be that hard to do with all of the members in this forum. I do not thing that it would take very long to come up with a good sized list. And those cards are great. Maybe this thread could be moved over to it's own forum page for everyone to respond to with companies names and address. And then have it made into a nicely presented info page. -BB

As for a list, that's not an easy task. Some places may have anti-gun policies, yet not enforce them, and some may have no policy, yet say "no guns". Some allow individual stores to set their own policy.
A list would be nice, but my guess is we would need to resort to growing our own food, sewing our own clothes, and walking instead of driving, if we chose not to do business with any anti-gun company.
Oh, and there IS a thread or two on this topic around here somewhere.
They never seem to get very much input.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Gun Free Zones
Not being disrespectful, but is this a reason not to try and build a list, a guess? Proof to me is it may work if other state organizations are using it. I thought the reason was to get the word out. One or two people choosing to do business with an accepting competitor may not have effect but the more people respond, the more it affects the gun free merchant. I can't accept that complacency, all it takes is some room for text for those that choose to add to the list.

All you need to do is do it. Post it, keep track of it, do it.

Re: Gun Free Zones
Maybe you're having trouble finding such a list because, unlike other states, it doesn't appear to be a problem in Pennsylvania. First off, a "no guns" sign has no legal standing, and secondly, there are nearly 600,000 citizens out there with LTCFs (which is approximate 1 out of every 23 Pennsylvanians of all ages, birth to death).
