    Default Snubbie .38 sights

I picked up a real cheap snub nose .38 from a member here last week. Shoots reliably and lock-up is tight. I found that if I line up the sights it shoots 4" high at 7 yards. After running a couple boxes through it I found if I hold the top of the front blade in the middle of the rear sight they land where I want them. I am able to hold 1 1/2" groups like this, double action, at 7 yards. Is it worth trying to build up the front sight or just leave it as is?

is that the armscor .38 from the classifieds?

As for the sight I'd probably build it up, supposing you need the gun it will be much easier to aim as God intended then using kentucky windage.

No it's an RG38. (Should be pretty familiar to you )

Planning on putting it in the ATV tool box when we go riding.

Shit, I didn't even look at who was posting. Awesome to hear that it shoots well though.

Yep, none of the lead spitting they're famous for. I put about 30 rounds through it earlier today. For all the bad press it's really not a bad little gun.

    ..............................

With a snubbie, I'd find out where it hits w yer chosen defensive ammo and aim fer the co jones....you'll hit him in the liver. Most of mine shoot low, which is fine, as I'd rather hit the liver than miss high.

I nevr mess with fixed sights, but that's just me. I aim fer the belt buckle and it is good enuf. I'd try several kinds of ammo as well, since different ammo shoots different in every gun. 6-7 yds is about right..std FBI combat distance being about 7 yds..or the width of the average living room so they say.
