    Default Two good encounters

Two good OC encounters in the past 3 weeks:

Stop and Shop, a veterans charity collector standing outside the entrance, the guy looked to be from the vietnam era. I gave a dollar, and then man looks at my hip where my Ruger SP101 sits in a DeSantis thumb-break. He asks if I am an LEO, I said no, just an Armed American. His eyes got really big and said, 'Oh, God bless you! I fully support gun rights'. He shook my hand and he told me a bunch of stories of the guns he's owned over his life (he mentioned a Dan Wesson 357). Great encounter.

CVS pharmacy today: A well-dressed, well-spoken man approached me and asked me if I was a personal trainer and where I was located (I'm not a trainer, but I sometimes have that 'look'). Then he looks at my Ruger and says he assumes I'm security. I told him no, just an Armed American. He said, 'Wow, I didn't know you could do that'. I explained to him the basics of the laws in PA, how to apply for the LTCF. He was very interested and thanked me. Very good encounter.

Generally, people are either supportive, or genuinely curious.

    Nice stories.

You care to share an example of the personal trainer look? I'm not propositioning you or anything just curious what kind of appearance or attire would lead a stranger in public to ask that. I haven't been asked that the past couple weeks

Glad you OC in Souderton. I got a few looks the first time I walked into the new Bottom Dollar but nothing more. Where do you go to Stop and Shop? I thought those were in PRNJ.

You're right, it was 'Shop Rite'. I mix those up all the time.

I've OCed in Souderton now since the beginning of last summer. Overall, most people don't say anything. Have had good encounters, and just a few negative (mostly those tools who like to tell people to 'cover up').

Those guns can get you the Trainer question. Nice Tan line, tho.

Out of all my OC encounters, this is probably the comment I get most often, and it is one of the primary reasons I open carry.

Folks need to know, folks ought to know. Sad that so many have that shown surprise are gun owners and even have their own PA LTCF.

    Thanks for posting your experience.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

This^^^^. I get the question from LTCF holders. I just shake my head.
