Walther PPQ
Have a Glock 17 and wanted a 19. Then recently met someone at the range that had a Springfield XD 9mm and let me shoot it. Liked that so figured I'd expand my options. Went to Cabelas and looked at Springfield, M&P, and Walther. The Walther PPQ just felt so comfortable and well balanced, so I think that's the route I'll go. Anyone have one that can offer comments/opinions? Thanks.

Re: Walther PPQ
A fellow member met me at the range and allowed me to shoot his PPQ. I was HIGHLY impressed with the accuracy of the gun and it shot like it was a match barrel. First time out with it at 7 yards I was putting rounds through the same hole without much effort. I felt the bore axis was higher than on the Glock and M&P which made it a little snappier but not unmanageable. Grip comfort was good as well.

Re: Walther PPQ
I did tons of research on it earlier this year and it is on the shopping list once the budget becomes available. From all accounts it is accurate with a great trigger.
Walther is apparently putting the PPQ M1 with the lever mag release back into limited production as well. I would not mind trying that one.

Re: Walther PPQ
I love the PPQ, it's by far my favorite striker-fired handgun and even edges out my beloved M&Ps. I had an M1 with the paddle mag release and loved everything about the gun besides that. The paddle release just felt really flimsy and didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence in me.
I have an M2 now and like the standard release much better.

Re: Walther PPQ
Welcome to one of the best Guns on the planet, it is by far the best polymer gun on the market, with a trigger no other striker fired gun can match.
The Guy who designed the Walther P99/PPQ is a former Glock engineer,i read an interview with him in a German magazine, he said that when he designed those Guns he intended to design them with none of the Flaws of the Glocks,
And this is the guy who helped put Glock on the map.

Re: Walther PPQ
Thanks for the input. I didn't find any negative reviews on them. I kept coming back to the PPQ after handling all the others. Didn't care for the feel of the PPK. Honestly it's the only striker fired pistol I ever held and it felt just right, right from the first touch. On my short list. Might sell my Glock 30 to get one. Now to find the best price/source.

Re: Walther PPQ
The only striker pistol better than the current PPQ is the prior PPQ..finest mag release in all of christendom.."hurrumph"..to all those whiney 'muricans that prompted the change.. As for the poster that stated they were 'flimsy'...'flimsy' where??
All jest aside, the only flaw in the pistol to be honest is the grip texture isnt aggressive/tacky enough. Sweaty or wet palms makes a sure solid grip a bit of a chore while actively shooting..Talon grips'll fix tho. Walther IMO needs to address this.

Re: Walther PPQ
Really want one of these. But that bore axis keeps making me reconsider. I know it's still manageable, most guns with a higher bore axis are. It's just usually a deal breaker for me.
