Default Been Wanting One Of This For Over 40 Years!

    Success!

I've been after a decent example of a Smith & Wesson Model 58 I didn't have to pay a crazy amount of money for since the early 70's and I finally snagged one a couple of weeks ago! It's in pretty decent shape with a little honest holster and its timing and lock up are good. It was manufactured in 1973.

Nice find, looks good. My dream is a Colt Anaconda with 6" barrel in .44 Magnum. One day I'll find one that won't cost me a divorce over the cost.

    NICE .41 Magnum.

The Model 58 .41 Mag was designed for law enforcement

Fairly light weight, 4" barrel, and no porting. Yep...that should have a nice, soft recoil.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

    Thanks, fellas!

300WM: At 41 oz it isn't exactly a lightweight, but when you touch it off, you know it ain't a .38 Special you're shooting!

I was lucky in being in the correct place twice, my local gun shop, where I picked up a 6" Model 51-1 and later an 8 3/8" Model 57-0. This is an interesting one as it is an overstrike from a 29-1 but everything is correct. I have fun shooting 0.41 Specials (yes I do have correct head stamped brass from Starline's special run) indoors and 0.41 Mags outside. Dave_n

The Model 57 is a great revolver and I've owned a couple of 4" barreled ones over the years. However, my real love is for the utilitarian look and nature of the Model 58 and its kind. I acquired a love for the M&P Smiths early on having carried a 6" Model 10 during the first half or so of my police career which spanned three decades starting in the '70s.
