Default Want to shoot XDS to see if worth buying, despite recall

I'm enthusiastic about all I've read and seen about the SA XDS pistols. I want to shoot the .45 and 9mm to see if i would be comfortable with either. Does anyone know of ranges renting either? I'm in Harrisburg area. I know they are on recall, and don't know if that precludes ranges from renting them, if they already had them for rental shooting.

I do not know of any in particular, but any range that is still renting them without the upgrade is leaving themselves open for lawsuits if anything were to happen.

Ditto, I'd doubt anybody has these for rent until they are fixed and I have not heard of anyone getting their repaired guns back yet.

I would not be in a big rush to buy one. I've shot hundreds of rounds through them. They have flaws which I do not know if the recall will fix. There are plenty of other reliable guns out there that work already.

Especially if you are on a tight budget I would try to shoot one first. I find them top heavy but OK shooters. If I was giving it a review, I'd say thumbs down on buying one.

If Springfield goes back to the drawing board there is some potential there, but I will not be trusting my life to one.

The shop where I work sent back all XDS that were in stock.
