Ruger SR9
I recently purchased a SR9. The first time out was a disaster with FTEs and stovepipes. I took a hard look at the gun and noticed when the slide was all the way forward the Loaded Chamber Indicator was not centered in the top groove of the Receiving Chamber on the barrel. It was sitting against the left side of the groove. When I pulled back the slide and slowly let it go forward it looked like the Indicator was going to center in the Receiving Chamber but in the last 1/2 inch the barrel shifts to the right, it hits something, and ends up against the left side of the Chamber Indicator.
I have taken the gun to the range again and seem to have the other problems worked out but the Indicator is still not centered.
Should I be concerned? I am getting some rub marks on the right side of the Receiving Chamber but it could be normal wear.
Is anyone elses Indicator not centered?
Thanks

Re: Ruger SR9
Ruger's SR9/SR9c...the "almost" pistols.... I can't check right now, but I believe the indicator on my SR9c is centered.. Ruger, for some odd reason, seems to leave out a few steps in their manufacturing that make for an "almost" well-produced pistol. I love the SR9c, but if they decided to produce a more finely tuned version, I would absolutely pay the higher price for it.
ps: email Ruger about it...sigh.Hunting is NOT a 2nd Amendment Activity

Re: Ruger SR9
When you look could you see if the barrel moves to the right in the last 1/2 inch before it is seated?
Thanks

Re: Ruger SR9
Are you able to post a few pics of this?

Re: Ruger SR9
Actually that picture show the indicator offset from the barrel just like mine, however mine has the indicator towards the other side.
Thanks

Re: Ruger SR9
This is a hard one without a pic. It could be as simple as the hole drilled in the indicator itself (where the pin goes through) is not at the right angle, the hook that hits the rim of the cartridge has an angle to it, or it simply was slightly bent during assembly. I kind of think this may be an anal thing, which is fine...I like my stuff straight, too; and bugs you. Curious to know if when the barrel hood pops up to lock into place when the slide goes into battery, does it tag the indicator with no ammo in the chamber, or does it look straight with no ammo?
