Open Carry Councin Meeting
Here's the deal. I'm an elected official of the Borough of Crafton. There has been some heated discussion on executive session than cannot be discussed in public. I made a request to the Borough Manager regarding a trend of the budget. Below is my response from the Chairman of Admin Committee and myself with a response from the President of Council.
Below is the email correspondence chain which resulted in the request for police presence at all future Crafton Borough Council Meetings from no until the end of the year. Keep in mind that our police force is down members as of now.
Our Mayor, who I stand by, is a retired member of the force and claims a pat down is not the same as illegal search and seizure, I claimed is was the same. I call BS on his claim.
What is the consensus of members here. Obviously some members of council, feel a need to have police presence at the rest of the meetings for 2013. There have been no threats made, what are my rights and what is the recourse should PD decide to single me out for a search at the meeting tomorrow night. I think its a civil rights violation and could be willing to pursue it.
Anyone local who wants to attend the meeting is at 7:15 tomorrow night. Could be interesting.
Council,
I have spoken with the Mayor and there will be an on site police presence for the remainder of 2013 Council meetings.

Re: Open Carry Councin Meeting
Your post is confusing. What does this have to do with open carry or pat-downs?

Re: Open Carry Councin Meeting
I think you really need to re-think posting people's email addresses. Especially if you do not have their consent

Re: Open Carry Councin Meeting
I would be very mad if I sent someone an email and the they posted it on a forum especially with complete names and emails listed

But being they are elected representative discussing borough business erase the presumption of privacy along the lines of a LEO in the course of duties and being recorded?

April comes off bitchy.
Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.

Re: Open Carry Councin Meeting
That may be.
But the email addresses that were in the post didn't appear to be "official" email addresses. They looked more like the persons personal email address. There was no need to publish any email addys at all, just a simple cut/paste of the body of the emails would have been sufficient.
And I still have no idea what the point of the thread is....

Re: Open Carry Councin Meeting
If the addresses listed were all the official addresses, I wouldn't really have much to say. Unfortunately, the email addresses that a lot of the correspondences went to seemed to be personal emails. This raises a red flag because why are council members conducting business through personal email accounts rather than their assigned "@crafton.org" addresses as listed on the borough website?

Re: Open Carry Councin Meeting
I don't undersand what that post has to do with open carry and posting emails with names and addresses is inappropriate and bad form. The original topic is not discussed in this tread. Would it be better to delete and start over?
