Rear site loose on SAXD9

Loose like... Slides right off.

How are these installed? Staked?

Anyway I can repair myself? I was surprised it popped off one day
I don't abuse it

Probably get night sites, but if I can DIY I will

This is the first i have ever heard of xd sights coming loose..

i put meprolites on my xd45 and it was a BASTARD to remove the old ones..

they are pressed in i believe from the left side of the gun if your holding it in shootng position. [ looking at the sight picture normaly]

Hope all goes wel for ya. i def reccomend nitesights.. i have orange back and green front sights..

ill say with without a sight pusher they are a pita to install... i gently taped mine in and havent had a problem and they have been on the gun for over to years now.

Check and see if the sight didnt break off at the base leaving the base of the sight flush with the slide... im thinking thats what might have happened as again i have done countless hours of research on the xd/xdm sights and i have NEVER read of them just coming out or being loose ever... its always the exact oppisite..

Ive read reports wheres guys and smiths alike had to cut out the old sight to remove them..

But to answer again.. they are dovetailed into the slide.. both front and rear.

If you look closely you can see tiny lines on the outsides of the sight base in the dovetail to ensure proper alignment.
