    NICE.
I'm going to the first area I checked in Avella Pa.

Weird story about the farm I've hunted for the past 30 yrs.

Owner called a couple weeks ago. Said he thought I was looking for side work (plumbing) and had a leaky faucet.
I called and left a message that I was busy teaching 2 to 3 days a week, was doing a lot of work at my kiddo's house and was leaving for NH in a couple days. Told him I was going to sell off my plumbing tools and and was not really interested since my gimpy hand wasn't doing well with fine finger manipulation etc etc.

2 days later I left for NH and came back this past Monday to 2 messages on my machine. The first was to call him. The second was a message that I was no longer welcome to hunt his farm.

Friends for 45 years. Have done an absolute shitpot of work for his kids and grandkids. Mostly free and a very reduced rate for larger work, sometimes material cost only.

Wrote him a letter mailed today thanking him for the past years of hunting permission, would find and return his gate key and asked him if I had no skill set for him to get something if he still would have allowed me to hunt his farm just because we were friends.

Doubt I'll get a response. I'll still do stuff for his kids & grandkids as we've been friends since about 1965 or so. His kid turned me onto deer hunting when I got back from Vietnam & bought my Spanish 7mm mauser for $24 at Springfield Sporters.

Life comes at you funny sometimes. Just weird.

I'll have to look around for a new 2B spot but am going to 2A Friday morn.

Just wow ! Unbelieveable response on his part in my opinion.

Not how friends ( should ) treat each other.

In response to^^^^^^. I had a conversation yesterday about how weird people are that own land. I don't know just seems the people that own things just can't stay grounded in life. I get it they earned it( some didn't some inherited it) but the just seem quirky to me.

Nothing wrong with my hand. I wear nitrile gloves when gutting animals. Just the angle of the picture makes my hand look off

I filled my local buck and doe tags but with school and football, my son has yet to get one. At the spot where I got my 7 pt this year, there is a very nice 8pt. We have gone out but he seems to mostly be nocturnal. Sometimes, we caught him walking through during the early morning so I'm hoping my son gets to see him on Saturday. Otherwise, there are two spikes in the area. One is a very big deer that might have some goofed up genetics.

Ive been seeing a lot of that this year. Large bodies, but barely or not even legal racks.
