2013 Archery report 2013

I got this 10 point buck this morning at 9:00am.

It came in behind me and after some tense moments I got my crossbow into position. My 100 grain Muzzy found it's mark, dead center on the right front shoulder and a complete pass thru did the job perfectly.

This is the first time I've ever 'doubled up' and gotten a buck and doe in the same season. Very very happy...

- 35 yard shot
- 50 yard recovery down into a damn steep ravine with thick thorns everywhere.
- 2 hour drag time (it was a bitch!)

Great shot and a great PA buck. Good job (sorry about the drag )

Not really knowing the right answer, I gotta ask the question....


Did they change the law and allow you to tag the deer on the antlers now?

It was always an ear tag, and I didn't realize they changed that. I had a friend get a citation for an improperly tagged deer years ago, because he had the tag wrapped around an antler instead of in the ear.

Work schedule changed last minute. Was able to get to my stand today around 2:15. I should have stayed at work. Lady from the office kept calling me for stupid questions anyone in the office could have answered. Saw 5 deer. Think they all were doe. Couldn't tell they were running so fast. Around 3:30 had two dogs run everything off the property. That pissed me off. I'm hunting private property and they don't have any pets. A little after 4 they came running through again. I called it quits after that and went back to work. Talked to the property owner about the dogs. Said she would call the owners.

Wow brother, that was a hell of a buck. Too bad he didn't come in closer.
