Yeah A5, we need 3 up on one side disregarding the brow time. Those 2 vids are my tube links. Couple nice young bucks. Neighborhood rumor has it that daddy is about & is a nice big 8. I have yet to see him but just got a trail cam so I'll set it up in the next few days.

Just got back from a really good day in the woods.

I was in the tree about 6:30 or so and took everything but the kitchen sink. A bit of a breeze started about daybreak and i'm glad i brought too many clothes.

Saw just an absolute shitpot full of squirrels. They were climbing up my tree, up and down all the trees around me and even started coming down my tree.

I didn't see a deer all morning. At 1:38, I started gathering my stuff off the hooks and back into my day pack. I took the bolt out of the crossbow and lowered it to the ground, turned around, untied the Loggy Bayou cinch rope and was ready to fold the seat down. I turned around and there was a small buck feeding about 5 yds from the tree. It had about 2" antlers so to say it was a button buck would probably be wrong.

I get my camera out of my pocket and had just deleted some vids cause I knew the card was almost full. I started videoing this young buck. I zoomed in to his head and then panned down to my crossbow laying on the ground under me. Too funny. At about 2 min into the vid I start talking to the buck to get him to look up. He stares straight at the tree I'm in but never looks up. I talk loud, almost yelling at him with no response other than him being frozen and staring at my tree. 3 & a half min and cam's still recording. Cool.

Finally I think maybe mommy's around so I started to pull the bow back up. Then he finally takes off. I HAD about 4 min and 2 sec when the cam stopped recording. I pulled the bow up, put another bolt in it and hung out for about 15 min scanning around.

OK, no dice. Take the bolt out and lower bow to ground again.

I hit the review button and the camera is frozen open. I pull the battery and it closes but I can't review any of the vid.

Unrecognized File Format with a big question mark shows where that vid is and I can't review it. Damn.

I would not have shot that deer anyway. He was pretty small. Hope he makes it through this season.

Has anyone gotten that message on their cam? I'd really like to know if there is some way to save that.

Anyhow even without vid, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. .

Well here's a few birds in the wild ( not related to those at my house ). I had to frantically try to delete some stuff to make a bit of room. http://youtu.be/MAoQONC6Dpc

Got my first deer ever today. This is my fifth season out, 2nd archery. God was I pumped up when I found blood. It is only the second shot I have taken in my time hunting, the first was last year and I missed a little low. I misjudged the distance (stopped at walmart on the way home and bought a range finder that day!) She ran about 50 yards and lay down to wait for me.

She came into my field about 10 minutes before the end of hunting today...I almost left a little early. I am still feeling pretty damn good 5 hours later!

Tommyboy. Congrats on your first deer. Cool feeling, isn't it? There will be more. Enjoy for now. Savor the venison. Plan the next hunt.

Yeah, I never really thought it would easy, but was not expecting this long of a wait. I was really beginning to think I was doing something wrong (perhaps I was, I have changed a few things over the years?) The long wait only makes it better, I can tell you that!

If gun control worked, Chicago would be like Mayberry, instead of Thunderdome.
