Has anyone considered placing a bid?

I'd love to but I just can't go to those numbers.

Wish I had the scratch for such an investment. On top of the money though I'd need the willpower to leave them in mint condition for collection purposes. I'd simply be too tempted to take them out a shootin!

On Gunbroker the bid for the M1A is $5,500+.
On AuctionArms.com both the M1A and the 1911, both #1 of 500, are still at $4,000. This seems pretty low for a pair of matching serials. I am considering a bid, but will wait a few more days to see how high it gets.
I feel like this will probably end up out of my reach. They are pretty though.
