SR9c bullets rattles in mag when I walk
I bought a SR9c I put enough rounds through it to trust it and now when I walk it rattles like no other. Does the mag still need broken in or do I need to get a new spring?

I have 1 or 2 mags that do that if you load them to full capacity. (not Ruger)
Try loading less rounds into the mag and see if that makes a difference. If that doesn't work, try stripping them down and do a good cleaning and light oil. By light i mean wipe with a rag that has a touch of oil on it.

Every now and then I get a Glock mag that will rattle a little when loaded. I hit the back of the mag on my hand. If that doesn't work I pull one round out and put it back in again. That usually gets rid of the rattle, if not I do it again until it does.

That's the follower. Some Glock mags are known to do it... Usually a good tap on the back or the floor plate will seat the follower. Or remove a round and put it back in.
I've never known it to affect function in glock mags

tap the back of the mag against your hand and seat them correctly...
my 1911 mags do this from time to time, however, that usually fixes them...
other suggestions offered are good to look into as well

Re: SR9c bullets rattles in mag when I walk
A couple of things can happen, here. When under pressure, and at the sweet spot (could be 6 rds, could be 10 or 12). the floor plate gets more pressure on one side than the other and it will flop around. Sometimes, changing the angle of the mag spring where it goes into the follower to the exact angle of the follower when it's all the way into the feed lip area will stop the floor plate rattle, sometimes it won't. You can also pinch the area of the mag where the floor plate is so the floor plate is snug when it's slid into the end of the mag. It will not take much to do this. The floor plate does not need to move, so this doesn't hurt mag performance. Another thing is the mag spring can hang up a little in one of the indicator holes and allow a small area of the spring to be under less stress than the rest of the spring and it will let that area 'rattle' around, as well. There isn't much room in there and everything is under pressure, so the smallest movements in these 'sweet spots' will be amplified and sound like something is moving more than it actually is. Oh, and let's not forget that some cartridges just are not perfectly round and you'll get an area where the front or rear of a cartridge has more pressure on it than the other which will let the opposite end flop around a little, as well.
Space techno hasn't hit the magazine assembly line, yet, but don't worry...it doesn't do anything but alert the bad guy if you're trying to sneak up on him.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
