    Default Pocket holster recommendations

I'm new to carrying, but was wondering of anyone had recommendations for a decent, affordable holster for pocket carry. I'm planning on carrying my J frame S&W snub pocket, and I presume people don't just drop the revolver in their pocket without some type of holster.

Similar question for my Glock 27. Thanks a lot in advance.

I have both a Uncle Mikes pocket holster & a Desantis Pocket holster for my J-Frame. I bought the uncle mikes for somewhere around $10 or less. It works well. I then saw an add for the desantis @ $15 and from the looks I thought it should perform better. After using both I like the Uncle Mikes better. It has more padding then the desantis & it seems to stay put a little better as well.

If you're looking for some custom leather, I highly recommend Pocket Concealment Systems:

Michael Meredith made me a Blackbird holster for my Kahr MK9, and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a little more money than the Nemesis-style holsters, but it's a custom fit for the pistol, and it conceals relatively well in most of my jeans.

Another vote for Uncle Mike's here. It has the added bonus of a closed muzzle end and that keeps lint out of your gun and in your belly button where it belongs.

I ordered but have not yet received a pocket holster from Mika's Pocket Holsters at

    http://www.frontiernet.net/~akim/index.html

He was a police officer with the L.A.P.D. from 1973 to 1993

His prices are very reasonable and he is able to customize the holsters.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

I just bought a DeSantis Nemisis for my J frame. It is comfortable and it breaks up the revolver's outline.

The Kydex exterior seems to grip your pocket as you draw the pistol as advertised.

I am a big fan of leather but this one may be a keeper.

I am happy with my Mika's round end for my J-Frame. However, expect to wait 30 - 60 days.

It's very nice. I was up in the air between the Blackbird and Harpoon, and I chose the Blackbird because:

    - there's a little less leather, so it's not as bulky in the pocket
    - the "wing" has a curved shape which matches the curve of almost all jeans pockets, which is what I wear 99% of the time when I'm carrying. So the bottom of the holster fits flush with the bottom of the pocket.

When I have some time I'll post pics.
