    Default Rep Madeleine Dean

I live in Abington township and Madeleine Dean is located here for the 153rd legislative district. I recently got a flyer from her in the mail making the usual democratic talking points of supporting stricter gun control legislation and fighting the privatization of the liquor industry here in PA to support union state jobs (not that I have anything against union workers, my father is a union employee). I "liked" her facebook page so I could watch her events she posts and stay informed of her position. She has been hosting these "Coffeehouse of Representatives" where she sits down and allows the public to speak their minds. Her next coffeehouse meeting is October 4th from 8:00am - 10:00am. I was thinking this may be a good time for an open carry rally but I'm assuming most would be at work.

Any thoughts from fellow PAFOA members?

Of course a democrat will have such event during daytime, when her political opponents are at work.

That's exactly what I said to myself...she has these things in the morning when most people are working.

I wouldn't open carry, I would cc and go and sit and ask questions as a "concerned constituent". A protest can be blown off, a concerned citizen who comes armed with knowledge and asks pointed direct questions and does not allow the politician to spin or dodge the question can make a big impact with others.

The last thing we need is more negative press from open carriers.

Cc or OC I see no reason why the method of carry determines what you do. It would be just as easy for a person to ask questions as a concerned citizen either way.

I carry openly daily and wouldn't change that to speak to a politician in a coffee shop.

I don't think he meant that you shouldn't necessarily OC, only that it shouldn't be planned as an OC rally but more of an opportunity for general citizens who happy to carry (either way) to ask questions and contribute.

Of course, I could be wrong; IANAL
