    Default AR Armorer's Course

    Hello,

I'm interested in finding a solid AR Armorer's course in the PA area. I've poked around a bit on here and online and found some excellent courses offered by a few different companies (Defensive Edge, for one), however they are far away (Kansas, MO, TX).

Does anyone know of, and feel confident recommending, an AR armorer's class in the great state of PA?

Please note, I am not LE/Mil, so any class recommendation would need to be open to the public.

Thanks, and have a good one.
    Dave

Maybe give the AGI dvd's a shot. They are pretty thorough. There isn't much to the ar platform that can't be picked up on the internet and youtube. I personally don't see much benefit from an ar specific course.

The ar platform is kind of like the "snap together" model of the gun world.

Most AR armorer's courses are open.

We hosted DE a few years ago and unbelievably it was not well attended. Sully knows the platform exceedingly well.

If you can, try to organize a class in your town. Sully will schedule you in if you have a confirmed head count.

an AR is a tinker toy. no need to waste time taking a course. pick up a decent book on it and take a rifle apart 3 times. nothing more you need to know.

...unless he wants to make some money putting them together. It's all about marketing and who would you rather have put your rifle together, someone with no credentials in that area or a 'certified AR armorer' (provided that you do not know either)? How about if he wants to open up a shop that specializes in ARs?

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies.

That's basically my goal in looking for an armorer's class. I'm well beyond the tinker toy phase, having done several builds, constantly upgrading mine, and moving along to piston-gas systems and adjustable gas DI .300 BLK . While I'm new to pafoa, I'm not new to firearms or the AR system. Always more to learn!

    Thanks again!

    Hey Tony,

Thanks for the info, that confirms what I saw when searching online. The DE offerings look outstanding, covering exactly what I'm looking for.

Now to find a place and people to have the class.

    Thanks again!
