WILD ANIMAL SIGHTING AT STUMP PARK
Just got this email from York Township (bold added by me)
NOTICE--WILD ANIMAL SIGHTING AT STUMP PARK--TAKE PRECAUTIONS WHEN IN AREA.
While out inspecting the rain gardens at Stump Park on Friday, September 27, I (Debra, Recreation Director) was approached by 2 persons that I recognized as regular trail walkers. They told me that they had seen an animal--they called it a small mountain lion or a cougar about the size of a golden retriever--in the area. They also stated that there had been reports of an animal like this in several areas further south, such as Glen Rock, etc. They told me that they had already contacted the State and that someone would be coming down to try to track it. In the meantime, please take precautions when at the park. Pay attention to your surroundings and, if walking the trail, carry a walking stick or something similar with you.
Something similar....like this?
