Doublestar 1911 Combat Pistol
http://www.star15.com/1911.html
Does anyone have experience with this pistol? It seems like a great price for a lower-tier custom 1911. I've not really been able to find too much through searching, and it's not clear to me if you could buy this from a dealer or if you need to buy direct from DSC.
Any info or feedback / reviews are greatly appreciated.

I've never seen one. 1911forum.com has some info on them.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

For that kind of money I'd go with something proven, like a TRP.

Re: Doublestar 1911 Combat Pistol
I don't have experience with the DS 1911 but I do have a Doublestar AR-15. The quality is okay, at the time they were marketed as a top-range AR at budget pricing. Fit and finish is marginal, but the thing is drop dead reliable. 5,000+ rounds without a single failure.
Customer service was decent. I had a problem with excessive wear on the charging handle. They immediately sent out a new one. Same problem; they had me send in the upper. Supposedly replaced it (I didn't mark it so I couldn't say for sure). I still have more wear on one side of the charging handle but it hasn't affected function. TLDR: They didn't fix the problem but it was a very minor thing, they tried and were quick about it.
The major issue I have with DS is they obviously spent a ton of money on getting professional reviewers to give them a good rating. If I had based my purchase solely on what I read from magazines and established blogs I would have expected a top of a the line Colt. So don't believe everything you read about the Doublestar 1911, make sure you find some people with actual hands on experience who aren't getting paid off. I'm happy with my purchase, but I knew what I was getting.

For that price, TRP seems like better ways to go...
Not to mention I have seriously difficult time considering a company being serious when they sell a Zombi X Chainsaw by PanaceaX as an optional upgrade for their AR's...

For that money, I'd buy a genuine Colt railgun or Springfield.
