1911 storm lake Barrel drop in
I bought a stormlake barrel for my trp .
It dropped right in .
It didn't lockup at first but after a few thousands of an inch it did .
My question is if everything works should I still have a smith look it over and do a proper fitting ?
Thank you

What do you mean about a few thousands of an inch? How did you fit it?

Re: 1911 storm lake Barrel drop in
I put the barrel in to the slide and the hood of the barrel was a little wide .
So I shaved off a bit .
It fits ,it functions as it should .
my question here is should I leave it alone or get it looked over by a smith?
I've shot through it already no issues .
I may be a lil off on how much I took off .

There are timing and contact requirements with respect to the length of the link that you might want to ascertain to be within specs. I think I would have a gunsmith who knows the 1911 check it out. It could save eventual cracking of slide or frame if things aren't correct.
Take a look at these:
