Cobra derringer 9mm assembly problem
Hey guys,
Well to keep this short and sweet I don't quite know where the tiny ball in the derringer goes.
It's called the "lock and safety ball", and it rolled out of somewhere I'm not aware of.
I looked all over the web and can't seem to find any info on it.
Any ideas or help?
Thanks!

Re: Cobra derringer 9mm assembly problem
My guess:
Apparently there is a safety that slides side to side. There is a small spring that apparently sits in a hole and 'points' toward the middle area of the safety. Atop the spring is a small ball bearing that rides on the middle of the safety button.
That's my best guess from looking at a parts breakdown. Best wishes!IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.

Apparently there is another spring & ball (same part numbers) used on the lock. You'll find one of those balls are missing (on safety or lock) and needs to be put back in place.

Re: Cobra derringer 9mm assembly problem
Ok nice, the one that rolled out is the one near the trigger. I'm still not sure how it connects or where it exactly goes though. On the spring by the locking lever hole? I'm laughing at myself cause in stumped by a derringer!

Re: Cobra derringer 9mm assembly problem
Looking at the diagram, two identical springs are used and two identical balls are used. One spring and ball is the detent for the safety. The other spring and ball is apparently a detent for the lock/lock lever.

Davis/Cobra derringer 9mm & 22 assembly problem
Assembly of the barrel lock spring/ball is a pain. Ensure the top of the spring is level with "metal spring cup" and place the ball on top of the spring. Use your finger to hold the ball from falling out the side when you slide the pivot rod (gripper/swivel tang screws on later) in from the opposite side.
The pivot rod has indents. Line one indent (largest one is easier) with the ball and spring.
Use a flat pick or screw driver to push the ball and spring down into "the cup" while adjusting the pivot rod all the way thru to flush.
If the ball isnt in place the barrel will lock either open or closed as there are only 2 indents on the swivel rod the ball "click slides over"
This also applies to a Davis or Cobra Industries Derringer D22 Derringer.
