Default Question About Buying A Bushmaster Target Model Rifle A2 20"

    Hey everyone,

I am a 20yr old student from Erie who bought his first rifle last year. A awesome Weatherby Vanguard 270 WSM. Great rifle. Took it hunting for the first time this season. However, I am looking into buying a .223 Bushmaster Target Model Rifle A2 20" online from Davidsons for target practice. I was just wondering if there are any regulations/requirements I should know about. I've heard from some people that you must be 21 to purchase a AR15 type weapon, etc. I'm also wondering if there any length requirements I should know about. I've heard rumblings about that as well. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks.

    Thomas

I'm not aware of any (legal) difference between your previous rife and the Bushy. I'd say you're good to go.

And as for being 21 with AR's, I believe that only applies to stripped lowers, since they can be made into a rifle or a pistol.

A complete rifle is no problem for a 20 yr old, unless Davidson's won't do it (doubtful). A stripped lower cannot be sold, BY A FFL, to someone under 21, as per BATFE regs. However, FTF private sale should be ok, unless the lower is marked "Pistol" or is already made into a pistol, then it has to follow those laws.
