Re: 1000+ yard ranges
There is one in the Williamsport area. I can't remember the name or location, but it's there someplace....or at least used to be. Sorry I can't be of more use other than a lead.

Re: 1000+ yard ranges
If you join Mifflin...make sure you own a truck or SUV...you won't make it up the trail with a car.
That range is cool, but it's on an incline.

Re: 1000+ yard ranges
It is the Original 1000 yard Benchrest Club, inc.
It would be a little over a 3 hr drive from Boyertown. A little far to shoot regularly, but well worth the trip on occasion. Especially when they hold championships.

Re: Mifflin
Recent renovations have made the 1000 yard range more accessible and more open. They have literally moved mountains.
If it is wet 4wd and clearance is necessary, if it is very dry you might be ok with 2wd with decent ground clearance. The road up the range has water bars (aka mound downhill of a ditch that can ground a car. The recent work has left much of the surface with a lot of clay that is an expert at becoming thick mud. Know you and your vehicles limitations, you will piss off a lot of people if you shut down the range for a day with a stuck vehicle in the middle of it.
As of last week after the most recent renovations:
IIRC There are target boards at 25,50,75,100,150,200,300,500, and 1000 yards.
IIRC club steel is at 300,400,500,600,700, 800,950,1000, and 1050
If you want to post targets at other distances you will have to bring your own portable target stands . I do not know future plans for placement of target boards or steel.
This is the big range (1000 yards left, 500 yards right) Mifflin:
below: view from 700 ish to 1000 (the big ass rock with painted idpa on right is NOT at 650) the board with the white idpa target is mine.
below: view of 1000 yard steel
below: view from around 850 to 1000 the target with the big green 9 is one I brought with me. steel at 950 1000 and 1050
