    Default Firearms in Fairmount Park?

Ok so I know Philly cannot actually make a law that prevents the possesion of a firearm in its parks because of Preemption, but they did. Does anyone know if they are enforcing it? Also are there any attempts to reverse this law in court?

Back in May we had an OC protest at 2 Philly parks. We even had police escort because of the large size of our group, and we walked between the parks. Had a permit too.

Shows how much they wanted to enforce it if they gave us a permit for an open carry meet in violation of their ordinance.

Anyway, someone from the DA's office said they know the ordinance won't hold up and they don't intend to enforce it.

Knowing philly you might still want to be careful.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Thanks, I go to Forbidden Drive with my fiance a lot and I but mostly to run so I dont carry my firearm with me but today I am talking my puppy for a walk there and want to carry.
I dont think I will carry since it is Philly and they tend to over step their boundaries and I cannot afford to get in trouble because I am trying to get a job as a police officer ( Ironically in Philly).

I carry in Fairmount park all the time when I go fishing back there on Forbidden drive on the Wissahickon creek, never had a problem. Don't see too many cops to be honest. There have been several random beatings/muggings by groups of thugs within the past couple years so I never go there unarmed.

You are more likely to have your car broken into while parking in the area of Forbidden Drive. Do not leave anything in plain view or stuff it underneath your seats after exiting your car. Thieves are watching.
