Are crossbow hunters in PA frowned upon by compound bow hunters?
Here in NY, it was once legal to hunt using crossbows, but that law expired and it's now illegal to hunt with crossbows. I've also heard that traditional bow hunters did not look favorably upon crossbow hunters because they are under the impression that crossbows make it "too easy" to aim and target a game animal thus taking the "sport" out of the hunt. What's the general opinion and scoop on this from those of you who hunt with bows?

I can't speak for everybody but around here our attitude is kill deer, eat deer, yum. I just don't want to see a deer pin cushion, but you can do that with anything if you don't know anatomy or your wepon or you skill. Happy eats.

Re: Are crossbow hunters in PA frowned upon by compound bow hunters?
There was animosity from some vertical bow hunter toward making crossbows legal for all. Of course, some recurve hunters had animosity toward those "too easy to hold draw" compound bows. Then there were the long bow hunters that felt recurves made it too easy due to the increased speed. I'm sure spear hunters think the long bow is for pussies.
And on it goes."A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself"
