Default High school rifle team picture missing?

Did anyone from Emmaus High School in Lehigh County get a reasonable explanation of why their award winning undefeated championship rifle team picture was left out of the year book?

I read one explanation offered in the article that the picture was not turned in on time. If this is true then it seems to me that whoever was responsible for the layout of the book wasn’t paying attention. No one notice that one of the organizations representing the school which had such an accomplishment that these kids had wasn’t there? Really?

East Penn School District superintendent Thomas Seidenberger stated “This is a high school Issue”.

I think that dismissive attitude towards the parents and would like to know what the reason for the decision was really.

Wow. That is really sad to hear. Hopefully the parents will push for an explanation as to how this happened. Its no small feat to become champions in any sport. I dont see how you can forget about them or have it be an oversight. So much for showing kids that hard work pays off.

How about we get together and host a pizza party for them? Invite the Allentown Morning Call to cover the event.

I would say that is a pretty dick move even considering if it is like my high school in Lancaster they use air rifles. That is the only sport in which it doesn't matter if boys compete with girls.... In my opinion.

I just heard the other day that the coach from Emmaus resigned and they are looking for a new coach.

They use bolt action .22's according to the Northeast Pennsylvania Scholastic Rifle League website...

I'd like to know how many high scools in PA actually field a rifle team.

It would be great if PAFOA established an annual recognition event for the winning team and even a $500 scholarship for the team points-leader.

What great publicity that would make.

"A bunch of kids spent the year shooting REAL RIFLES, won a championship, and were given a celebratory party by PA's leading association of gun owners...

AND CARNAGE, MAYHEM, AND WANTON VIOLENCE DID NOT OCCUR THROUGHOUT ALL THIS!"

Maybe guns are not so evil after all....

Interesting thoughts here. Would Dan be the person we would have to speak with to organize this?

I know a co-worker who has a son on the rifle team. They live in East Stroudsburg.

I live in the East Penn school district and my son just graduated from Emmaus in June. I'll have to ask him if he know anyone who was on the team.

This is the first I've heard of it.
