Primer tales
I'm an old geezer, but I guess I've led a sheltered life since my only center-fire handgun ownership has been limited to .357 and .44 revolvers.
While sorting thru some once-fired brass that I bought to load for my new .40 S&W,I noticed some unusual primer strike marks.I've never seen revolver primer marks similar to these Some of these are pictured below.
Likely, some of you fellows can identify the probable semi-auto manufacturer that made some of these marks, especially the top row.
I'm familiar with the "wipes" that an early slide unlock can cause, but "D" looks like a double wipe.
I've included a couple that showed the firing pin hit near the edge of the primer - does this indicate a bent striker or firing pin or what?

Re: Primer tales
Yeah my father has had a few semi autos years ago but we never reloaded for anything but our 44 revolvers and only really shot 357s and 44s so when I got a glock and my dad saw the primer marks he was concerned as was I as i had never sen anything like that but as it turns out its normal. and yeaht he top row look like glock hits.

Re: Primer tales
A, B, C, D, G - Glock-fired brass. No question.
D, G - Appear to have been used as "snap caps." Glocks are safe to dry-fire all you want, no need to use snap caps or spent brass.
E, F - I think these may be M&P fired brass.
I - Dunno. Winchester primers are natural brass color, that's probably a Federal primer, which are soft. This one is still pretty round at the edges, so this may have been a powder-puff reload.
Hits near the edge of the primer are likely just a product of tolerances in the pistol design. Can't say I've ever head anyone complain about their pistol not firing because of a bent firing pin.
(I really need to get out more, or get a job writing or a gun rag)Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.
