Ruger SR40c and PC4 carbine magazine interchangeability??

Does anyone know if the magazines between these two firearms are interchangeable, since they come from the same manufacturer and in the same caliber?


The reason I ask is that I already own a PC4 carbine and want to be able to swap the same 10 round magazines between the carbine and the pistol should I decide to purchase the SR40c pistol.

I don't think they are. Your best bet is to call Ruger.

I found that that they are not because the PC carbines were based on the P series pistols, which like the carbines, have been out of production for over 6 years or so. I'd have to purchase and old and out of production pistol, which is just not worth it at this point, just so that I can interchange the magazines. The low cost of magazines doesn't warrant buying an old pistol, so I'll stick with the newer SR40c which can use the same .40 caliber S&W rounds as my carbine.

Why is that not worth it? They were solid guns IIRC. I'll bet one would outlast a SR series. Any excuse to buy a gun is a good excuse in my book.
I go to buy one everyday. It's just that damn budget that stops me.
I'm sure they are going for good prices now. Besides. Having interchangeability is great. I know the probability is extremely low but what if zombies do happen? I wouldn't want to carry two types of mags.
You could keep the P series on your hip. PC4 in the back seat. Grab your spare mag off your weak side and rock and roll if you ever have to travel to bad areas.
Buy another gun. Stimulate the economy. I don't think anyone here will say "nah, you don't need it, what's the point.".
