    Question Will I get an NR LTCF? NJ Resident.

    I live ful-time in NJ, and I looked at the list (http://www.pafoa.org/counties/), and I see Monroe issues NR permits. My family lives in Monroe, and I have several friends who are Monroe residents, so references are no problem. I'm also an EFGA member.

    I tried searching, but no dice. Will I be issues a NR LTCF? If so, is the process any different for a non-resident? Would it just be easier to apply for a UT permit? Thanks for the info.

    Don't you need to have a permit from your home state to be eligible?

    While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

    To flesh out what has alreay been said;

    18 Pa CS 6109(e):

    ,,, A license shall not be issued to any of the following:

    (ix) A resident of another state who does not possess a current license or permit or similar document to carry a firearm issued by that state if a license is provided for by the laws of that state, as published annually in the Federal Register by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms of the Department of the Treasury under 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(19) (relating to definitions).
    So, unless you have an NJCCW, you can't get a Pa LTCF.

    PS. Since you are a NJ resident I suggest you change your profile location accordingly. It could better tailor responses to any further question you may post to know that you are a NJite thus potentially involving interstate and NJ laws.

    Also, if you do eventually get a UT (which I understand you can) remember that it will not protect you while transporting handguns to/from NJ to out-of-state locations. You will have to qualify for an NJ exemption while you are in your home state.

    Also see:
    http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-ope...ly-report.html

    PS Being an NJ resident it would be advisable to change your profile's location to so note. It could help tailor responses to your future posts since it alerts that your issues may also include interstate and NJ laws.

    Thanks for the info. I only bring my guns when I go to the EFGA range, so I'm exempted under NJ law.

    On your return trip to NJ, will you also be going DIRECTLY from the range to your residence?
