bridesburg 1862
my husband has a bridesburg 50 calibar muzzleloader with the date 1862 on it. He is very interested in finding out the value of this weapon. the ramrod sticks out a little farther than the barrel we were told that it was used during the civil war. If anyone could give us any ideas about this weapon please email at mjplum@localnet.com Thankyou

Re: bridesburg 1862
Taken care of.
I emailed her, if it's dated 1862 it's likely an 1861 pattern, Jenks contract. I recall production was in the 90,000 range, so it isn't exactly rare.
Doubt the ramrod's original, though.Gloria: "65 percent of the people murdered in the last 10 years were killed by hand guns"
Archie Bunker: "would it make you feel better, little girl, if they was pushed outta windows?"
