Wild hogs are not regulated by the PA Game Commission, so the semi-auto ban may not apply. I'm not entirely sure though.

True above, but it may be difficult to explain to a Game Warden why you're carrying such firearms for "hunting". There is the remote chance a Warden may have bug up his butt and twist things around. ...we have one here locally known to do such things.

On private property you can hunt them with anything you want. On public ground, you must follow all rules that apply.

I only hunt private ground, and shooting a hog is no different than shooting a cardboard box. Pa Game Com. has no control over these hogs on PRIVATE land.

So lets say a Saiga-12 shotgun with a pistol grip mod (the legal 922r one) with a honkin 10rd mag full of slugs. In theory if you could hit it (assuming the shot placement) it would be going down?

And yes I know you probally wouldn't need the big mag but what can I say I like high caps

According to the PGC Regulations book for 2006-2007, you may hunt them with any firearm legal for hunting. They also state that you should harvest one only using legal means and while hunting other species that are currently in season... So since coyotes and groundhogs are basically in 365 days a year, you can use any firearm legal to harvest them... So my pump action 30.06 would be perfectly legal...

As far as private land goes, I believe the WCO's are allowed to go on any private land they want. You can ask them to leave and they probably will, but if they catch you with an illegal firearm and some dead animals, I'm sure they'll give you bloody heck over it...

The Game Wardens in Pa. have ZERO authority over wild hogs....none.

On private land you can shoot them with a belt fed M2 if you have one.

These wild hogs are not considered game animals, and have no protection under any game law. In fact, the Game Commission wants them dead, and dead now.

You are supposed to comply with all regulations if you are hunting them while hunting another legal animal...such as during deer season...you must wear orange and so on.

But on private propery you can hunt them with a AK-47 while wearing nothing but a gun belt and a smile.

I hunt em' in the summer mths with my M1 Garand. Havent't seen another single hunter yet.

I'm gonna try to Glock one as soon as ice fishing is over.

Calvin - I have yet to see one over here - Pleasantville/Renoldsdale region - but confess to not having studied their habits a whole lot.

What would you suggest to look out for? How secretive (or not) are they? If I can latch onto any over this area I will be out with my .454!

WOw, that is asking for one heck of a sunburn! Think I'll keep my clothes on (Besides, I wouldn't inflict that sight on anyone! 'Twould scare people!)

Hmmm...sounds like something I could use Dad's old .30-30 on! Actually, I would LOVE to go on a pig hunt! Sounds to me like we need to organize a hunting party (with pig roast to follow!)
Guns are like shoes...a woman should have one in every caliber.

I'm armed and menopausal...Excuse me, did you have something to say?

If it happens I'll even bring a non-commie gun, to keep the peace
