utah permit with DUI?

I was looking at Utah's concealed permit eligibility. It seems it's a no go if you have a dui in your past. Anyone have any experience with this?

Seeing how stringent Utah's laws are on alcohol, I would not be surprised.

We were told by the BCI that a person convicted of an offense involving the use of alcohol is precluded from obtaining a CFP for 6 years.

I just attended the Utah CFP Instructor renewa. DUI is counted for 5 years now to conincide with validity length of CFP. That is for regular run of the mill DUI. Felony DUI, etc --- disqualified.

And if you had a DUI and completed ARD, the arrest may not show up on the Docket site. Answer the questions truthfully, and provide documentation stating the DUI was expunged. This may or may not be necessary but probably will not hurt your cause.

If you have proof that the DUI was expunged through ARD, you need to provide that to them and all will be peachy.
