Winchester FAIL SAFE Ammo ?

Acquired a box of 20 rounds 270,130 grain with 4 complimentary Fail Safe Rounds 140 grain,Any members know more info about the Fail Safe Rounds ?

Fail safe is their black bullets with a silver tip? It's changed names over the years, supreme, silvertips, etc. I've always called them silver tips since I've started using them.

If so, that use to be my go to round with my winchester 70 in 30-06. Was very accurate in that rifle and reliable in stopping whitetail.

AHA,Was not aware since I bowhunted mostly last 40 years,rarely with a gun,Thanks for the info.How are you liking the Ruger ? I saw your post on your Bow package but out of my price range....MDT

Broke it in with some 150gr factory loads but groups were 1.2-1.5". But that's to be expected with 1:10 twist. That twist rate should prefer bullets around 170-180 grain, so I ran a "reload ladder" of 180gr softpoints that I had floating around the reloading bench. Picked a load in the middle of a couple of sub moa "rungs of the ladder", which is more than adequate for "minute of deer". Loaded up a box of those and stuff them in the safe for rifle season. Nice hunting rifle for the price point, thanks.
