Default Expo Center (Allentown) is back

The show that was held at the Pennsylvania Expo Center is back. In early 2006 the show was stopped due to the owner selling the property for conversion to a medical center. The show promoter recently learned that the conversion cannot go forward due to EPA issues and a what may be a long legal battle.

The show had been growing until it became a victim of the sale and was stopped.

    Go here for more details.

It is Saturday night and here is a report. The show was quite crowded today and most dealers reported doing pretty well. The hall is well lit.

Usually Sundays only get about 1/3 the attendance, but if today is a measure, tomorrow should be pretty good.

Overall a great crowd for a show that has had a one year gap.

I didn't find anything that really interested me besides a decent deal on some 223 and 45. If you go to a gun show to buy socks there was couple sock dealers there for some reason. I go to a gun show to look at firearms and related items. Not socks.

I went to the show with a friend and I thought it was pretty poor. We were looking for AK's, but the selection was VERY Sparse. We ended up checking two gun shops in Slatington and ironically found AK's for a hands down great deal (keifers). I did see a MP40 at one of the stands at the show that was pretty impressive, but not for the price...

Good luck to those who go today.

I went to the show today, and I found it to be good. Guns shows now days are not for finding astounding deals on firearms anymore 99 out of 100 times......but it is a good place to see whats out there, finding misc. nic nacs, and handling items one is researching and looking toward purchasing ( typically purchased via the net now days for better pricing). I enjoyed myself and hopefully they keep it around!

I could have saved you all time and money by saying the Allentown show is a joke. The only show I like is the one in Harrisburg. Especially, the December show...Harrisburg's is always the week before VF. Same vendors, but they increase their prices for the VF shows for the city folks that are clueless.

ETA: I do like to go to shows just to see what they have, but most of the time I don't bother going unless I have a list of items I need to buy. The shows I go to you must pay to park and pay to get into the show. Prices seem to be increasing along with everything else associated with firearms.

Nope, mainly because the tables cost about 50% more for vendors at the Valley Forge show. Hotels and food in the area cost more too. Plus VF is one of the worst venues for dealers to load in / load out. Besides we only jack the prices up to screw all the guys from Jersey!
