2-Gun Mifflin Co Sportsmen (Rifle-Pistol)
We are planning a rather interesting 2-gun match at Mifflin Co Sportsmen, Nov 2nd. This will be a rifle-pistol action match. We have excellent long range facilities and will give shooters an opportunity to use their rifles at 400 and even 500 yds. However, these will be large targets and should be doable by anyone who understands their rifles hold overs at those distances.
We have spent a lot of time and money improving our ranges, and this match will help show of the new facilities.
More information to follow as we determine the specifics of the match.

Will you have a class for un-magnified red dots?

.
Sweet !
I'll be looking forward to this, Mifflin is a great range and there are too many short range 3 gun competitions and a definite lack of 2 gun and rifle comps that go out to or past mid-range.
Mifflin is the perfect club for this type of shooting.
..... don't make it too easy, throw in some smaller 1, 2,or 3 MOA targets too.

Re: 2-Gun Mifflin Co Sportsmen (Rifle-Pistol)
John, I hear you about the lack of longer, ie "rifle" range shots in multi-gun. I know everyone has to use the facilities they have; fortunately Mifflin Co is set up for real rifle shooting. I am so glad to have read your post as that is exactly my thinking (minus the 1 moa, there should be nothing under 3 moa, but at 500 yds with any wind I believe even the better shooters will be challenged. The one really long range stage will have 3 positions, all with some support, and have 24 required hits; however as one only gets to have 30 rounds one has to go nearly 1 for 1 or risk not engaging and suffer the penalty, believe me this stage will separate the real rifle shooters form the posers. Another stage that is shaping up nicely is on the new range. Sitting in a truck with a holstered pistol and a rifle cruiser ready, one engages paper and steel from within the truck. Then transitions to rifle upon exit and engages 100 yd(ish) steel from 1, under the truck, over the hood, and from the rear of the truck. As you will note this will require some real scrambling and the ability to shoot from a variety of positions with some level of precision, but very quickly.
As to the classes:
Open; Any of the following put one in open class, two optics on rifle, optic on pistol ( if we had shotguns detacable box mags, speed loaders, or an optic on the shotgun would as well).
Tac Scope; Rifle may have one magnified optic. Pistol iron sights only.
Tac Limited; Rifle irons or non-magnified optic, pistol must have iron sights.
Now that is better, thanks to Brian for point the above error out to me.
We are putting the final touches on the preparations and planning. However, as I'm going to be ROing and shooting at FNH next week I won't open registration until I return. I hate to call or E-mail someone and not get a prompt reply.
I was shooting my rifle at 400 and 500 yds yesterday, and it was working great, so expect to see a few tough shots, but balanced by a lot of up close and fast stuff. Although clanging steel at long range is great so is really fast double taps at bad breath distance.Last edited by Rundownfid; September 22nd, 2013 at 09:28 PM. Re: 2-Gun Mifflin Co Sportsmen (Rifle-Pistol)
Is there a pretty even mix of Tac Open and Tac Limited shooters typically?
I'm tempted to do Tac Limited but i don't want to end up being the only one in that class.

Re: 2-Gun Mifflin Co Sportsmen (Rifle-Pistol)
This week the entries have really started to arrive. A surprising number of tac limited, nearly up with tac scope??? Only one open so far, could use some more.

Re: 2-Gun Mifflin Co Sportsmen (Rifle-Pistol)
Are you scoring 2 hits anywhere on paper counts as neutralized? Or will it be a form of uspsa or idpa for scoring?

Sounds like fun. I got my new M&P core with red dot. O maybe I'll try open division.
