Kimber Pro Eclipse II Custom Shop value/info
I need some info on this Kimber.
It's marked "Pro Eclipse II" on one side of the slide, and "Custom Shop" on the other. I did some research and found that only 2500 were made in 2003 with the CS engraving before the model went to a production gun. Can anyone confirm this? And does anyone know the value. A friend of mine bought it years ago, and is contemplating selling it.
Thanks

Re: Kimber Pro Eclipse II Custom Shop value/info
I will guess at this one, but I would say, in good, clean shape, $1300 average.

Re: Kimber Pro Eclipse II Custom Shop value/info
Does the serial number start with "KRE"?
Realistically... I'll say $1100.
Even though they only made 2,207 of them, they had a MSRP of $1,000 (meaning you could probably pick one up considerably cheaper), and there is no real high demand for the rarity of the firearm (that I know of).

So $1100 would be a fair asking price?
I thought about offering but that's a bit rich for me.

Re: Kimber Pro Eclipse II Custom Shop value/info
Here's one that listed for $900 back in Jan 2013. My opinion is there is nothing special about this gun that makes it worth more than that. http://www.armslist.com/posts/911882...--custom-shop-
Here is the same full production gun with the only difference being 'custom shop' isn't engraved on the slide: http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/ec...eclipse-pro-ii
If Kimber's 'custom shop' was actually that, it would make the older, engraved model worth more. The unengraved, 'production' model can be had for the same $1100, NIB. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...Pro+II+.45+ACPBCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: Kimber Pro Eclipse II Custom Shop value/info
The OP said that it has the "Custom Shop" engraving on the slide, and the serial number reflects that it is one of the original, non-production model eclipse's.
Both the ones you linked to are the production models.
The only difference is rarity, the engraving on the slide, and an ambi safety (the production models did not have the ambi safeties, the custom shop ones did).
Is the ambi safety make a price difference? not really.
Does rarity? Yes. But how much is purely subjective.

Re: Kimber Pro Eclipse II Custom Shop value/info
2202 to be exact on the rarity bit, if my information is correct.
The first link relates to the one he wants to buy (2003, engraved). The second two relate to the production gun without the engraving, just as it reads. To my knowledge, this is not a sought after 1911, mainly because Kimber's custom shop isn't an actual custom shop like S&W or SA has. It is the exact same gun less a few roll marks, hence the low value.BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.
