    Default Ammo Disposal

I suppose I'm lucky that after 40 years of shooting I don't know the answer to my problem. How do I get rid of unwanted ammo? In the past I could easily find someone to take what I couldn't use. But this junk I have (Silver Bear 9x18) I'd only give to my worst enemy...cuz it don't work. Jams every single freakin' time. My local gunshop is going to relieve me of my burden but I'm curious, what are the other options? Trashcans, campfire, garbage disposal might clean the gene pool a little too close to home. And no, it's not the gun. Got some Winchesters and it eats them like a bum at a buffet.

They make good practice rounds since you should be doing malfunction drills when you shoot anyway

lemme know how the campfire route works out for ya

I think the police will take it off your hands and dispose of it for you. I would say your dealer might be the best route, especially if he'll give you at least something for it.

or sell it. I'm sure people will buy it

I think the police would be annoyed at the request to remove your trash.

Just post it on the board, even if free for shipping, someone WILL buy it

My police chief still has a plastic bag filled with crap 7.62x39 ammo to dispose of. It's been sitting in the police garage for six months now. PSP doesn't want it.

My recommendation? Burn barrel + hot fire + bad ammo.

This is a myth, and was tested by our friend over at The Box-O-Truth:

No penetrating oil or solvent can infiltrate assembled ammo - though it will destroy loose primer caps.

I'll take their 7.62x39, if nothing else malfunction drills.

If you still have it, I'll gladly take it off your hands. My Makarov runs like a champ with that stuff.

It's only 40 rounds so shipping will cost almost much as a new box. And Pa. Patriot's idea is excellent. Malfunction practice. So instead of getting pissed at it I'll use it to my advantage. Thanks Pa.
