Default 1911 Holster for Concealed Carry

    Guys,

I need some help picking out a good holster to conceal a commander size 1911. I have a Galco holster with a thumb-break, but it is really only good for OC. Since holsters cost $$$, I figured I would ask and save some cash.

I am 6' 190lbs, so I don't have a lot of bulk to hide the gun. I would like OWB if possible to avoid buying pants. Tell me what you think. Post pictures if you have em.

    Thanks.

Take a look at the Galco "Silhouette" they are compatible with crimson trace grips and are a high ride style holster so they conceal nicely. From Galco they run 69.95. I am a Galco fan I had a problem with my Sky ops holster and their customer service was impecable!!!! The problem was fixed and a free replacement part was to me in 2 business days, free of charge!!!!! As for a picture you are on your own the only pic I have is out of the Galco catalog.

Either one of these, the Brommeland is real thin, I have one.
It must be a standard 1911, mine is not.

http://www.alumbankweb.com/cc-riglinks.php Here is a list of makers from DefCarry forum that might get you started. We're about the same size. Most decent pancake style holsters will conceal a 1911 well. Certain IWB designs will allow you to carry your 1911 without buying bigger pants. I use a Milt Sparks Watch-Six for a BHP and it's comfy. UBGholsters.com offers similar designs at a reasonable price and wait time.

I've had enough holsters to fill a short-bed pick-up. The absolute best, most comfortable, most concealable holster of any design Ive ever tried is the Answer, from Tucker Gunleather. I have carried a flull-sized 1911 in mine, everyday, for three years. I has passed the "nap test" more times than I can count. Nothing else even comes close.

I use a IWB blackhawk for my commander

OR My ross OWB for commander or my fullsize with a jacket.

That is a super snazzy rig!! I may have to look into one. Will require some saving up of the pennies but hey it looks well worth it!!!!! I like how it has the leather "shield" keeps the safety and hammer from "biting"
