Default Browning BLR 30-06 trigger pull

I'd like to lighten the heavy trigger pull on my BLR 30-06. Good idea, yes/no? I have a good gunsmith/machinist friend here in Vermont, but I would appreciate PAFOA input before I begin the work. Can someone suggest a plan and parts to lighten trigger pull on the BLR; new parts or machining existing parts, do/don't do, other advice? Thanks. Shrubdog.

Update from author: My gunsmith/machinist gave my BLR a four pound crisp trigger pull, down from eight-plus pounds. He changed the angle on the sear and installed a lighter spring. Some web discussions said it was difficult to do trigger work on the BLR and to find someone to do it, this guy tried and succeeded.
I wanted to share this update/answer to my own forum question to help others who might be considering work on their BLR 30-06. If you have detailed questions about what my gunsmith did, send them to me and I'll send them to him and reply to this forum. I appreciate the PAFOA and want to give back. Shrubdog.

Glad to hear it worked well for you. Many don't realize how much better some can shoot with a better trigger. My boy couldn't hold 3 inch circle with his Handi rifle in 25.06 but after having the trigger smoothed out and brought down to 3.5 lbs from 7.5 lbs and really rough. That year he got 2 deer in 2 days with 1 shot each at a measured 400 yards and 425 yards.
