WWYD ?
You patronize a local shop, ask about a specific quote and realize the shops quoted price is way more then MSRP, 20% or more?

Re: WWYD ?
Well... There is cost, price and then value
Decide for yourself. Can you get it cheaper somewhere else?
Cons to that? Can't handle it first, have to wait, no patronizing a local shop, etc
Willing to pay a little more?
Pros to that? Can try before you buy, walk out same day, support local shop, etc

Re: WWYD ?
It all comes down to how badly you want the gun.

Re: WWYD ?
I would (and have) let them know "Hey over at Joe's in Nexttownover, he quoted me $400 for X gun, any way you can help me out here, you are my local guy and I would rather give you my business?"

Re: WWYD ?
it really depends on the gun...difficult hard to get guns are going to demand a premium. run of the mill guns that every shop has in stock i would have thanked him for his quote and left.

Re: WWYD ?
Do not buy it, tell them why you will not buy it. Let them know you can get it cheaper, then ask if they can beat the other price by 10%. If not, you need a new lgs.

Re: WWYD ?
The opening post never said that he could get it for less. If it is a gun in high demand, it is not uncommon for dealers to charge a premium for it. Bluffing that you can get it cheaper elsewhere and then demanding 10% less, is a sure way to NOT end up with the gun that you want.
