New to Monessen and the Mon Valley
Hey folks...
Just moved to Monessen and looking for some places to shoot. Maybe a gun club even, I mainly shoot Pistol and .22 LR, but would love to get back into skeet and trap (RIP Greater Pitt)
Any help?
Thanks!

Just take a walk each evening, you'll eventually get some trigger time.

Re: New to Monessen and the Mon Valley
That number is great... it must take in to account on the folks who RESIDE in Monessen City that commit crimes throughout the area rather than the people who actually live in Monessen City that have had crimes committed towards them.
No neighbor nor far NOR wide has had no issue towards themselves/ family or their home or property. Although, if you read the Valley Independent News daily as I do, I can assure you that ALL crime posted in the daily police reports come from Donora (drug capital of the Mon Valley) or Charleroi (Police absence of the Mon Valley)

Re: New to Monessen and the Mon Valley
Welcome to the area. I've been living/working in the region for about a year and 3 months now.
Go to the Monessen Firemen's Club for Gyro's on Tuesday (cash only) they're delicious. Wings ain't bad either on Mondays. Headquarters in Yukon has the best wings Monday and 50 cent Taco night Thursdays.
East Monongahela Sportsmen's Club is a pretty sweet place, need a member to vouch for you to join. I have yet to get around to it. I think they have weekly pistol shoots open to the public. Long Branch has pistol shooting. Clairton Sportsmen's club has clays. I think Ruffsdale does as well. Clairton has an informal 3 gun open to the public montly (pm me for info). I hear Long Branch near Elco has a Tuesday night pistol shoot open to the public. I'm supposed to check that out with a friend that is a member. Star Junction is another good one.In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

You don't have to be a member to go for lunch or dinner.
You have to be a member to buy alcohol any time.
You have to be a member to go there after 8 or 9pm.
Members can sign in 2 guests I think.
It's $25 a year I think. You go in and ask for a membership and then they add members every now and then. Pretty laid back place overall. In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796
