The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course is 8-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.

Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, Basic Practical Rocker and brochure, take the Basics of Pistol Shooting Examination, and receive an NRA basic course completion certificate. Students under the age of 21 may participate in this course.

Your Certified Instructors will use the NRA’s Total Participant Involvement instructional methods, and will employ hands-on classroom training aids. Hearing protection , eye protection, refreshments and lunch are provided by Aliquippa Bucktails.
