Cheap .45 ACP Target/Ball Ammo?
I've been taking my Kimber to the range a lot lately, and she's putting a hole in my wallet. Any good deals on target ammo?

Sadly there isn't at this time. Most places are dried up, have limits, or become sold out shortly after shipment. I'd recommend walmart if you get their early. If not subscribe to this thread with instant updates

Re: Cheap .45 ACP Target/Ball Ammo?
Check out Gunbot.net
Plenty of .45 ACP ammo available for between .40 and .50 cents a round.
Buy in bulk quantities I say.
If you don't mind the Russian steel cased ammo that is the cheapest.
Cabela's right now has some decent priced ammo like PMC.
They also have their own brand Herter's and the FMJ flavor is made by Sellier and Bellot in Czech. I had good luck with that in .45 ACP.
AIM Surplus has good deals every day but they go fast.
UNammo has a selection of .45 ammo in bulk that would be ideal for target shooting.
Palmetto State Armory has steel cased Blazer for $18.99 right now.

Re: Cheap .45 ACP Target/Ball Ammo?
My local range doesn't allow steel cased ammo... so I've been pretty lucky finding 100rd boxes of WWB for ~$42 at Walmart. Not great but decent price for brass.

Re: Cheap .45 ACP Target/Ball Ammo?
Try to shoot less than you buy, assuming that you are buying some. My last trip to the range I only shot 25 rounds per gun. I had been shooting more frequently though, but finding certain calibers can be tricky, costly, and time consuming. On a frustrating note, I did find that shooting 25 rounds made the gun about as dirty as 50 to 75 rounds. But life goes on...
...and they have a plan...

FreedomMunitions is fairly cheap... and they have a link for what's in stock:

Personally the cheapest ammo is the ones you handload. I'm cranking out .45acp rounds at about $0.15 a round.DISCOUNTS - Steel Target Paint: beaverje10 (10% off) | Wiland USA: jbeaver05 (5% off)

Really....learn to reload.
I load a box of 50 .45's for around $8 a box. I
I cast or swage my own bullets and the savings are even greater.
I reload my target ammo for less than $4.00 a box of 50.
Either way....way less than fifty cents a shot.

Re: Cheap .45 ACP Target/Ball Ammo?
Reloading jacketed bullets for 45acp is stupid. Velocities shouldn't come close to lead up the barrel, so you are pissing your money away needlessly. The last time I bought 200gr LSWC's they cost me 6˘ a piece. Primers I'll price at 3.5˘ a piece and powder at about 1.5˘ a round. So, a conservative estimate for my reloading is $5.50 for a box of 50. The ppl I really for sorry for are 44mag shooters who don't reload. Before the craze prices were around 80˘ a piece retail after tax, I have no idea what they go for now.
